LADIES' CITY BIKE FRAMES
At Loca Bikes, we produce aluminium frames for our city bikes that come with internal gear hubs and a belt drive. The main advantages of our frames are high durability, low weight, well-thought geometry and fine details like hand-smoothed welds. The frames are designed and produced in Poland.
Our Ladies’ City frames are made of 7020 aluminium tubes and weigh only between 1.80 - 2.0 kg depending on size.
Along with the low weight of the 7020 aluminium comes its high durability and stiffness which is proven by positive results of extensive stress tests carried out at the factory. Additionally, 7020 aluminium does not require heat treatment which allows for easier repair compared to the common 6061 T6 alloy.
City bike frame production is carried out in Gliwice, Poland where not only tubes are welded together, but also dropouts, bottom bracket shells and head tubes are produced. The frame’s design, painting and quality control are also part of a local process and that all takes place in Wrocław. The tubes come from German mills and have all necessary EN certificates.
In addition to weight and strength, geometry is also key in bicycle frames. Our city frames, compared to our Gravels, have a larger wheelbase and are more comfortable, all to ensure stability even in the chaos of urban traffic. However, they will still surprise you with their nimbleness and acceleration, which are on a much better level than a typical city bike with a much longer wheelbase.
The ladies' city frames are suitable for a belt-drive installation. They can accommodate wheels with practically any gear hub available on the market. Shimano Nexus 8, Shimano Alfine 11 or even Rohloff will feel at home on a Loca Bikes frame. The frame will also work well as a base for a trouble-free single speed bike - just one gear will allow your machine to be extra light.
Our ladies' bikes can also handle off-road use. Hydraulic brakes, wide tyres and
a carbon fork make the frame a good base for a gravel bike with a gear hub and belt drive.
The tapered head tube provides reliable handling, while the carbon fork offers good shock absorption and additional weight savings compared to aluminium or steel construction.
Our ladies’ city bike frames are designed to accommodate flat mount disc brakes. Disc brakes provide much better braking power and modulation than rim brakes.
Stability and stiffness are positively influenced by the use of front thru axle made by Polish manufacturer BB Components.
Our ladies’ city bike frames can accommodate tires with a maximum size of 700x45c. Additionally, on each frame you will find dedicated places for mounting full mudguards, a rear rack, a central kickstand and two bottle cages.
Details make all the difference. That's why our frames have perfectly smoothened welds, the cables are routed inside the tubes for a minimalist look and easy bag mounting, and the frames feature tensioning bolts in the rear dropouts which help keep the rear wheel aligned and the chain/belt properly tensioned on our ladies’ city bikes.
