SINGLE SPEED COMMUTER

Single speed means one gear. That is how many gears our bikes in the single speed commuter category have, meaning that you have to give it more before you move off or ride uphill, but thanks to this, you will improve your condition faster and strengthen your muscles. Besides, isn't cycling all about getting tired too? However, do not be afraid of being overstrained - we always choose a gear ratio taking into account the form and preferences of our customers so that moving off and maintaining high speed is as pleasant as possible. What if you wanted to adjust the gear ratio? Nothing simpler - it takes 5 minutes to change the sprocket, and, in most cases, thanks to the track ends, you do not even have to change the chain length.

The absence of a derailleur has many other advantages as well. Our single speed commuter is about 2 kilograms lighter and about 150 € cheaper than our city bikes with hub gears. There are also no shifters, cables, or housings, which makes maintaining them even more trouble-free and gives them a more minimalistic look. If you would like to go for a Gates Carbon Drive belt instead of a chain, then you will only be giving your local bike mechanic a quick wave through the glass as you pass.

Unlike our bikes from the Fixed Gear/ Single Speed our single speed commuter bikes are more comfortable. The frame allows you to fit tires as large as 700x45c (i.e. 45 mm wide), while our fixed gear frames fit a tire with a maximum of 700x30c (30 mm). Additionally, it is possible to mount full-length fenders, a chain guard, an integrated kickstand and a rear cargo rack

What if you wanted to have gears in the future? No problem - you can mount a geared hub at any time, e.g. a Shimano Nexus 8, Shimano Alfine, Rohloff, or SRAM to our single speed commuters.

The quality of our bikes is best confirmed by our customers. We ask you to read their opinions. We would also like to mention a few important points - our frames are made of triple-butted and very durable 6061 T6 aluminum, have smooth welds, integrated chain tensioners, and internal cable routing. Other parts that we use come exclusively from reputable manufacturers such as Shimano, Continental, Brooks, and Miche. Detailed technical configuration and list of used parts can be found on the page of each bike below the price band.

Our single speed commuter bikes, like all our bikes, are made to order. This means that we paint and select parts in agreement with the customer. Changing the color, details, adding an original signature, or replacing parts with others of a similar class usually does not come at an extra cost. It is because of this, at Loca Bikes, for a reasonable price, you can buy a personalized, one-of-a-kind bike that will not only bring you a lot of joy but will be the right one for you.

For each single speed commuter from Loca, you have a 5-year warranty on the frames and a one-year warranty on all other parts except for consumable components that are prone to wear and tear, such as tires or inner tubes.

When you open the box containing your single speed commuter bike from Loca, you will see that it is already 90% assembled. All you have to do is set the handlebars in the right position, install the front wheel, screw in the pedals, and get ready for the lap of honor that awaits.
